Jacqueline Laurenzi M.Ed – Resident In Counseling

Jacqueline Laurenzi M.Ed – Resident In Counseling

I am pleased to introduce Jackie Laurenzi, M.Ed., a dedicated Resident-in-Counseling under the supervision of my practice.  Jackie earned her Master’s degree in 2013 with a specialization in School Counseling. Recently, she completed a Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Mason University. Prior to transitioning into Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Jackie spent over a decade as an Elementary School Teacher and School Counselor, enriching her practice with a deep understanding of educational and emotional development.

Jackie’s extensive background allows her to collaborate closely with clients, helping them uncover connections between different aspects of their lives. Her experience positions her to offer unique insights into the challenges individuals face across personal, family, and professional domains.

Jackie is passionate about the critical role mental health plays in fostering a healthy, fulfilling life. Completing her residency is a key step towards full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a process that typically spans 2-3 years. As her Clinical Supervisor, I will provide direct support and guidance to Jackie on all of her cases. I am confident that Jackie’s expertise and dedication will offer exceptional care to her clients throughout this training time period.

Specializations: 16+ Teens, Adults, Families, Couples, and Perinatal Support

Jackie works with individuals aged 16+ and couples, specializing in addressing anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. She is also developing expertise in perinatal counseling, with a specific focus on postpartum anxiety and depression.

Therapeutic Approach: Family Systems Focus

Jackie’s therapeutic approach is grounded in the Family Systems model, helping clients explore how their beliefs, behaviors, and expectations influence family dynamics and relationships. She is especially passionate about working with committed couples seeking to strengthen or repair their relationships and takes a special interest in supporting new and expectant parents during the transition to parenthood.

With compassionate dialogue and a genuine curiosity about her clients’ experiences, Jackie guides them in exploring their backgrounds, needs, and desires. She believes that building a trusting, collaborative relationship is essential for effective emotional work. Additionally, Jackie incorporates psychoeducation into her sessions, empowering clients with knowledge about their mental health and overall well-being.

I look forward to the positive impact Jackie will make in the lives of those she serves.
